Cantharellus xanthopus: Yellow Footed Chanterelle.

Cantharellus lateritius, Smooth Chanterelle: Fruity odor.
Choice eating. Abundant in the summer. Location: Tea Creek Tr, MNF, WV.
Cantharellus cinnabarinus, Cinnibar-Red Chanterelle: Even
though its maximun height is a tad under 1.75 inches it is still considered choice eating. Location: Shenandoah Mt Trail,
Ramseys Draft, GWNF, VA.
Gomphus floccosus, Scaly Chanterelle: Funnel portion grows
with age. One of the few Chanterelles not recommended for consumption. Location: Fayetteville Tr, New River Gorge National
River, WV.
Entoloma vernum, Early Spring Etoloma: Gills initially
white to off-white turning pinkish brown with age as shown here. As the name implies, this is the earliest gilled mushroom
of the year. Location: Rohrbaugh Plains Trail, Dolly Sods, MNF, WV.
Entoloma strictius, Straight Stalked Entoloma: April
to September. Found in damp woods. Gills changing white to pink to brown with age. Location: Ramsey's Draft Tr, GWNF, VA.
Entoloma murraii, Yellow Unicorn Entoloma: Cap 3/8 to
1.25 inches wide. Stalk 2-4 inches tall. Found in moist woods. Location: High Meadows Tr, Seneca Creek Back Country, MNF,

Russala virascens: Green-quilted
Russala. Good eating. Location: Bull Run Mt Conservancy, VA.
Russala pulchra: One of many Russala species.
Edible. Location: Otter Creek Wilderness, MNF, WV.
Russula mariae, Purple-bloom Russala: Grows near oak.
Purple tp red/purple caps and stems with white gills. I consider this one burgundy. Good eating. Location: Tea Creek Mt Tr,
MNF, WV.
Inocybe calamistrata: Brown caps, gills and stem. Stem bruises green. Poisonous. Cap width about 1/2 inch. AKA
Green Foot Inocybe. Location: Gauley Mt. Trail, Tea Creek area, MNF, WV.
Psathyrella
candolleana, common Psathyrella: Off-white cap and stem, grayish-brown
gills. Edible. Location: Tea Creek Tr, MNF, WV.
Oudemansiella platyphylla, Platterful Mushroom: White to
gray cap with white gills. Spring through mid summer. Edible when young. Location: Tea Creek Tr, MNF, WV.
Cortinarius iodes: Spotted Cortinarius.
Light shade of violet as in Iodine. Location: King's Gap Environmental Education Center, PA.
Hygrophorus (Syn: Hygroceybe) miniatus: No common name.
At maturity the cap might be only 1/2 inch wide. Bright red to orange with yellow, distant gills. Location: Fayetteville Tr,
New River Gorge N.R., WV.
Amanita parcivolvata, False Ceasar's Mushroom: Red-orange
cap, yellow stem. This is a veil-less Amanita. Location: New River Gorge NR, WV.

Lactarius corrugis, Corrrugated-cap Milky: Brown/Red cap
and stem, white latex w/fishy odor. Gills yellowish. Location New River Gorge NR, WV.
